Economic Times is the world’s second-most widely read English-language business newspaper, after the Wall Street Journal, with a readership of over 800,000. As the demand creeped in, ET created an app for its customers to be connected with the world, available from anywhere they go.

We took a feedback from Sahil Sharma, Product Manager - Mobile(Apps and WAP) from Economic Times, to understand what they loved about CanvasFlip.

(Customer Success Story - Economic Times)

CanvasFlip: We wish to understand the design process followed at Economic Times?

Sahil :We initially used prototype.io to build prototypes for our apps. My team was creating wireframes which was getting moved to the design head and post approval we used to move them to the development team.

CanvasFlip: What was your pain point in this process with the existing tool?

Sahil :The process of creating the prototypes and checking the flow of the app was acceptable but the problem was with validating the user experience. There wasn’t any way of certainty about the user experience. It was difficult to trace out where exactly the user was getting stuck. Few verbal comments from the team were the only ways to improve the prototype.

Sahil wanted a tool which was straight-forward, faster and more intuitive. In a nutshell he wanted something “enhanced”!

CanvasFlip: What according to you is the most attractive feature in CanvasFlip?

Sahil : For me, the “user videos” is the feature for which I switched to CanvasFlip. It assists me to see how a specific user was trying to use the app in a recorded video. I love how this video gets recorded instantly in real time in absolutely no extra effort. Also, by viewing the cumulative data of lets say 50 users on one screenshot (user flow), made my work feedback based. My decisions for improvement of a screen or the flow of screens is now dependent on some empirical data in hand.

CanvasFlip: Would you recommend CanvasFlip to a friend in another company?

Sahil : Well I have already done it to few of my friends in other companies. I had also put a word to Bessemer, your investors about the potential of the company. In today’s fast changing world of UX design, predicting the future is no longer the art of gazing into the crystal ball. CanvasFlip helps me validate my prototypes and I am very happy to use it.

Sahil also went to say, “ CanvasFlip has helped us to rapidly iterate and has offered ways for rapid prototyping which were much more subjective and time consuming in the past.”

“It is our customers who create our brand stories! This is so because we go an extra mile to help them with their problems..”
